The legend Raymond van Barneveld secured victory at the 4th GUDE DARTS OPEN yesterday (Saturday). In front of almost 5,000 enthusiastic spectators in the Süwag Energie ARENA Frankfurt, "Barney" prevailed in the final against world champion Luke Humphries.
In a thrilling match between the previously unbeaten players, the new champion won 3:1 in the end. In the first semi-final of the evening, Raymond van Barneveld defeated Dirk van Duijvenbode 3:1 in a duel between two Dutchmen, while two current PDC World Champions faced each other in the second semi-final. Luke Humphries was unstoppable and reached the final with a convincing 3:0 win over John Henderson. Eight darts stars played for victory in the 4th GUDE Darts Open 2024. In Group A, five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld secured the group win. In the last group match, "Barney" defeated the "German Giant" Gabriel Clemens, who could have reached the semi-finals if he had won
, 3:1. John Henderson benefited from Clemens' defeat and, with two wins and one loss, finished second in the group behind the unbeaten Raymond van Barneveld in the semi-finals. Local hero Oliver Müller remained without a win in Group A. He put in a sensational performance in his three matches and came close to a sensation against both Barneveld and Henderson. In the end, he unfortunately lost both matches 3:2 despite leading 2:1.
World champion Luke Humphries progressed to the semi-finals as group winner with three wins. After a clear 3-0 win over Fallon Sherrock to open the tournament, he beat Dirk van Duijvenbode and Joe Cullen 3-2. The titan van Duijvenbode in turn won 3-0 against Cullen, and Fallon Sherrock was also beaten 3-1.

The good cause was not neglected at the GUDE Darts Open either. In the celebrity match for the benefit of "Hilfe für krebskranke Kinder Frankfurt e.V.", FFH presenter Evren Gezer and Gabriel Clemens fought a duel with Frankfurt MMA fighter Max Coga and Luke Humphries. The Coga/Humphries duo prevailed 2:0. More important than the result is the money that was raised after the match through an auction of signed shirts and jerseys from the participants. A total of €5,000 was raised through the
live auction for the "Hilfe für krebskranke Kinder Frankfurt e.V." charity. Dirk Möller from Ebersburg/Ried near Fulda won the bid for Luke Humphries' jersey at €3,300. The company Soundline GmbH & Co. KG from Mainz bought a signed jersey from Gabriel Clemens for €1,700.
Gude Darts are coming back to Frankfurt in 2025
The GUDE Darts Open will return in 2025. The fifth edition of the darts gala will take place on January 11, 2025. Tickets went on sale yesterday and over 300 tickets have already been sold in the first few hours. There is a 20% early bird discount until 26.02.24 at 12 noon.
