In early September 2019, BigChefs celebrated its grand opening in Foodtopia on the 4th floor of the MyZeil shopping center. Since then, the world has changed a lot - and so has the situation for restaurateurs. This also applies to the team of the Frankfurt branch of the successful Turkish restaurant chain, which was founded in 2007 by entrepreneur Gamze Cizreli. After about 60 restaurants in Turkey and the Middle East, the successful Café- and Brasserie concept celebrated last year thus also premiere in Frankfurt. And quickly BigChefs was also very well received in the Main metropolis, which is why a growth of 20% was expected for 2020. Of course, this cannot be achieved alone due to the closure for several months due to the Corona pandemic. Nevertheless, there is also good news on the anniversary.
So meanwhile, 80% of the sales strength of 2019 has been reached again. In addition, no employees* had to be laid off. Things are also looking good for BigChefs in the future: After three new restaurants have already been opened in Turkey since June, there should also be another branch in Germany in 2021. And this one is to be opened in Frankfurt again, as centrally as possible and this time not in a shopping center. A second branch in Frankfurt would bring with it a number of advantages, if only because of the possibility of supporting each other in the event of any bottlenecks. In the long term, there are also plans to open more BigChefs branches in other German cities.
What makes the chain so successful is quickly apparent when you enter BigChefs in MyZeil. The furnishings with comfortable sofas, carpets, bookshelves and lots of plants create a pleasant living room atmosphere. It's clear that guests should feel at home here - and they do.
