(pia) At the 10th Infobörse for communal and cooperative living, visitors can expect a varied program with experts from housing projects, politics and administration. Housing projects and initiatives, housing associations, traditional cooperatives and many other players in the field of communal living will be presenting themselves at over 40 stands. The Office of Housing of the City of Frankfurt am Main is organizing the Infobörse in cooperation with Netzwerk Frankfurt für gemeinschaftliches Wohnen e.V.
The new head of the planning department, Mike Josef, will open the 10th Infobörse in the Haus am Dom at 10 am. "Community housing is a real alternative for more and more people in Frankfurt's competitive housing market," Josef says. "Instead of large apartments, many people are opting for sharing spaces. If this option is available, many are willing to give up a few square meters of living space. Community and cooperative housing also offers the opportunity to have a dampening effect on rents. We support this approach. An important contribution to this is made by the Liegenschaftsfonds, which awards plots of land to community housing projects according to the best concept. We not only want to establish this fund, but also to expand it. Concept allocation will play a central role for me in the coming years."
Birgit Pohlmann, housing project developer from Dortmund, will present "New forms of housing and good projects from North Rhine-Westphalia" after the opening by the head of planning in the Haus am Dom. Birgit Kasper from Netzwerk Frankfurt für gemeinschaftliches Wohnen e.V. and Katharina Wagner from the Office of Housing of the City of Frankfurt am Main will look back at the beginnings of communal living in Frankfurt on the occasion of the anniversary and address the future potential of communal forms of living for urban development.
The doors of the Römerhallen will open at 11.45 am. In total, more than 40 initiatives will be represented with their own information stand in the Römer - both communities in the process of being founded and housing projects that have already been implemented. There will be various opportunities for exchange and further development. At the information stand of the Liegenschaftsfonds, there will also be an opportunity to get to know the first selected housing projects. In the Ratskeller there will be an extensive supporting programme with experts in conversation and short films on communal living. For newcomers, there will be a lecture at 2 p.m. entitled "Getting started in the shared living project".
