Great event for contemporary art: 80 national and international artists exhibit over 5,000 works, unique pieces at small prices under the slogan "Art makes you happy"
The 18. Frankfurt Art Supermarket opens its doors again this year at MyZeil.
Till 21 January 2017 - for 10 weeks - thousands of original works of art will be on display in spacious rooms at MyZeil.
Established artists and young talents will present drawings, acrylic and oil paintings, watercolours, photo art and small sculptures. The majority of the works have fixed prices between 59,- and 330,- Euro. In the higher price segment there is also a rich selection of large-format paintings.
The presentation of the artworks takes place on the one hand in a dynamic, area-wide show on the walls - and on the other hand in manageable, specially made artists' boxes. This allows customers to choose their favourites from the huge range on offer and, if they wish, have them framed immediately.

Contact with creative performance generates emotion, fascination, joy, excitement and relaxation. Engagement with art, comparative cultural research has found, is experienced by people all over the world as bringing happiness. The art supermarket promotes the encounter between art and viewers. Its low-threshold access allows more and more people to enjoy the stimulating atmosphere of original works at home.
Measured by the number of visitors, the Art Supermarket is now a major event for contemporary art. The event takes place every year before Christmas and has become one of the most successful platforms for contemporary art in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The exhibition presentation figures are also record-breaking: 80 artists from 15 countries exhibit over 5000 works. Important to the organizers are the consistently high quality of the artworks and the changing range. "This ensures that every year we can inspire so many visitors from all walks of life," says Mario Terés, the founder and organizer of the art supermarket.
