Local associations and initiatives looking for volunteer support can now register for the 18th Frankfurt Volunteer Fair. The event will take place on Saturday, September 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Römer. The aim of the fair is to promote civic engagement in the Main metropolis and bring associations together with potential volunteers.
A tried-and-tested element of the event is the volunteer speed dating, where interested parties can quickly and directly get in touch with organizations. This year, the motto of the fair is "Committed to the future" and is aimed in particular at associations and initiatives that promote innovative projects in areas such as digitalization, the promotion of democracy, integration, inclusion or environmental and nature conservation.
Mayor Mike Josef emphasizes the importance of volunteering for social interaction in Frankfurt: "Volunteering is the foundation of our city. It contributes to social stability and enriches community life. The Volunteering Fair offers the ideal opportunity to provide new impetus, network and further strengthen volunteering in our city."
