Deputy Head of Education Sylvia Weber launches Frankfurt Children's Office Christmas Gift Campaign

(kus) Head of Education Sylvia Weber today launches the 21st campaign of the Frankfurt Children's Office "Your Christmas Gift for Frankfurt Children". "I am happy and proud that we can make many Frankfurt children happy with this campaign. My thanks go to the Children's Office, all the helpers, as well as all the citizens and businesses who have put a smile and joy on a total of 46,300 children's faces so far for more than two decades," said a delighted Head of Education Weber.

Since 1996, children from care facilities in districts with so-called condensed problem situations and accommodations for refugees or women's shelters have been given presents. The children are allowed to fill out a wish card at the facilities and are then given presents anonymously.

The children's wish lists are now hanging on Christmas trees at over 70 different locations in the city. Until 15 December 2016, the wish cards can be taken off the tree and the purchased gift can then be handed in later either at the respective shop or directly at the Frankfurt Children's Office. The value of the gifts should not exceed 25 euros. The Frankfurt Children's Office guarantees that all children who have filled out a wish card will also receive their very own personal gift. For this reason, the gifts of the remaining wish cards will be purchased with the help of donations.

"With this campaign, Frankfurt residents have the opportunity to fulfill a child's very personal wish for Christmas, which the family itself often cannot afford. I know that this not only makes the children happy, but also the gift givers themselves. I am looking forward to fulfilling the wishes of about 4,200 children this year together with all the supporters" said Sylvia Weber.

More information about the campaign is available at the Frankfurt Children's Office, Schleiermacherstraße 7, and on the Internet at <link http: www.frankfurter-kinderbuero.de _blank>

The opening hours for the gift drop-off are Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
