(ffm) On Friday, June 8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., around 65 Frankfurt self-help groups will present themselves at the 35th Self-Help Market in the Saalbau Südbahnhof. The event has been organized for more than 20 years by the Frankfurt Self-Help Contact Point in cooperation with the Frankfurt Health Department.
At 11:15 a.m., the self-help market will be opened for the first time at Südbahnhof by City Councilwoman Nargess Eskandari-Grünberg and the managing director of the self-help association, Maren Kochbeck. "The market itself has a long tradition, but something is completely new - this time the market takes place in the Saalbau Südbahnhof. In the middle of the lively district of Sachsenhausen, the Saalbau provides a central and easily accessible location where interested citizens can gain an insight into self-help work" says Maren Kochbeck.
"The members of the self-help groups and initiatives provide information on many topics and diseases. Interested people can visit the groups, get insights into self-help work and receive information on topics that are otherwise difficult to find in such a good and condensed form," says Eskandari-Grünberg, who particularly appreciates the fact that the content of the event is so diverse - it ranges from chronic diseases and disabilities to rare diseases and psychosocial and social issues.
"We are very pleased that the self-help community "die Fleckenbühler" will again provide for the physical well-being with a variety of products. The band EvasApfelMusik will accompany the day musically and, together with a stilt walker, will attract passers-by to our market at Südbahnhof. We look forward to many visitors, take the opportunity to make contacts!", says Kochbeck.
Attending the market is free and open to all. Further information is available from the Self-Help Contact Point Frankfurt at 069/559358 and at the Health Office at 069/212-36270 or on the Internet at <link http: www.selbsthilfe-frankfurt.net _blank>Http://www.selbsthilfe-frankfurt.net
