A Journey through the NIGHT at the Museum of Communication

Turning day into night and experiencing it in all its facets - that's what you can now do at the<link https: www.frankfurt-tipp.de freizeit s ein-besuch-im-museum-fuer-kommunikation.html _blank> Museum of Communication. The new special exhibition "The Night. Everything but Sleep", divided into four chapters, sheds light on why the night has always exerted a very special fascination on us. With the help of numerous originally presented exhibits, accompanying text panels and interactive stations, visitors can embark on an exciting, amusing and interesting journey through the night. There are historical exhibits that show how our ancestors dealt with darkness or interpreted constellations. Art's treatment of the theme of night, for example in the "Magic Flute" or in paintings, is also addressed here, as are professions that are primarily practiced when a large part of the population is peacefully asleep.

As is so often the case, this Museum of Communication exhibition stands out for its versatility and a certain playfulness. This is evident, for example, in the thought carousel, which reveals a glimpse into our nocturnal world of thoughts, or in a glimpse into the suitcase of a vampire hunter, or in a small box from which visitors can remove small flirt cards. Visitors can also learn what happens in our bodies at night, meet creatures of the night such as Dracula or the werewolf, browse through a small selection of records with songs on the theme of the night or feel the wicked air of a red light district. Of course, the current club scene, but also the pleasure venues of the early 20th century are not to be missed.

"The Night. Alles außer Schlaf" nicely mixes the informative with the entertaining, the artistic with the bizarre and the cultural with the everyday. A really successful exhibition, which you can visit until 26 August. By the way, there is an interactive children's section for young visitors, which makes this excursion through the night exciting even for those visitors who really should be peacefully asleep in bed at this time of night. In addition, there will be a colorful supporting program with special tours, workshops or even a staged reading with Michael Quast and the Flying People's Stage.
