Frankfurt's nightlife would be unthinkable without it: Since 1976, the Batschkapp has belonged to our city like Grie Soos and apple wine. Although the old Batschkapp has been gone for years, the new "Kapp" in Gwinnerstraße has successfully continued the club's tradition. But as in so many places, nothing has been going on at the Batschkapp for weeks. And its little brother, the nachtleben on Konstablerwache, has also had to close its doors to guests until further notice.
No parties. No concerts where you can be extremely close to your stars. And there's no end in sight to the closure, with all major events banned until the end of August - so an extension isn't out of the question. What does that mean for a house like the Batschkapp? First and foremost, of course: no income for current expenses. And unfortunately also the impossibility of making firm plans for the period after 31 August. The politicians have made it clear. Festivals, parties and probably also concerts - these are all areas that will be talked about at the very end. Therefore, there is no hope for help or a quick solution here.
That's why the Batschkapp appeals to the fans. Because without guests there would be no concerts, parties and emotions. The fans are the ones who keep this hard-pressed industry alive - and therefore they are an important part of the whole thing. So for the team of the Batschkapp it is first of all important to say THANK YOU for the longtime support. At the moment it doesn't matter, on the Batschkapp is a fixed and important part of the Hessian cultural scene. It doesn't matter that the greats of music history have been on stage here or that many people in Frankfurt have very personal stories to tell about this place. At the moment it's all about survival.
