The infection numbers are rising and rising. In Frankfurt, the incidence is 71. The situation is dramatic, but panic should still not arise. Rather, we should all carefully follow the simple AHA rules to do our part to bring the numbers down again. Since many, but unfortunately not all, conscientiously adhere to the guidelines, the previous regulations have now been tightened again by the city. The new measures look as follows:
1. It is now valid in the entire downtown area, the plant ring plus the Mainufer in Sachsenhausen, from Monday a mask obligation.
2. The curfew between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. will be supplemented by a general ban on alcohol sales for the same period.
3. At secondary schools, masks will be compulsory during lessons, insofar as the minimum distance of 1.50 metres cannot be maintained. More extensive restrictions are being considered for school sport. If possible, sports lessons are to be held only non-contact and outdoors.
4. Professional sporting events will from now on take place without spectators. For example, Eintracht Frankfurt's next home match against Werder Bremen will again be played without spectators
5. A maximum limit of 100 participants applies to public events. Exceptions still require a hygiene concept agreed with the health department.
6. A contact limit of ten people will be introduced in public spaces. Similarly, a ten person limit shall apply to private parties/meetings. If the celebration/meeting takes place in the private area, these may come from at most two households.
7. At all religious celebrations, a mask obligation applies in the future, if the minimum distance of 1.50 meters cannot be maintained.
8. Educators are required to wear mouth-to-nose coverings when in contact with each other and other adults. In contact with children, this only applies if it is pedagogically justifiable.
These measures are in place (for now) until the end of October. Let's hope they are crowned with success. Stay healthy and take care of yourself and your fellow human beings!
