All information about the Museumsuferfest 2024

From Friday, August 23 to Sunday, August 25, Frankfurt am Main celebrates the Museumsuferfest. 27 museums, 14 stages and around 400 stands will form one of the largest cultural festivals in Europe on both banks of the Main. At the press conference, Thomas Feda, Managing Director of the organizing Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main (TCF), and representatives of the participating museums, projects and stages presented their programmes at the DFF - Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum, which is also taking part.

"Frankfurt delights visitors to the city and the people of Frankfurt with its festivals all year round. The three-day Museumsuferfest crowns our city's festival season and honors our local cultural and museum landscape," says Mayor Mike Josef. "As a summer event on the river, the festival creates a very special atmosphere and the participating museums, stages and projects contribute to the success of the festival with extraordinary and creative offers."

On this August weekend, Frankfurt's museums provide unique insights into their houses and gardens with great organizational effort. In addition, the stages provide a good mood and party feeling by the river with concerts of all genres by regional artists, international live acts, DJs and bands. The Sports and Culture World Stage will be sporty with hands-on activities and workshops.

"The best way to visit the diversity of Frankfurt's museum landscape in the near future is with the Museumsuferfest button for the price of seven euros. We are delighted that numerous museums, stages and projects are taking part again this year", says TCF Managing Director Feda.

The Organ and Choir Mile once again invites you to take a musical stroll and sculptures, paintings and installations will be presented on the Kunstwiese on Sachsenhäuser Ufer. The international artists' market on the riverbank and on Schaumainkai offers high-quality arts and crafts. The antiquarian bookshop mile invites you to browse extensively for rarities, antiquarian bookshops and books.

The numerous gastronomy stands offer culinary specialties from all over the world as well as classics from Frankfurt cuisine on their menus. The dragon boat races have been an integral part of the Museumsuferfest for more than three decades. On Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25, the traditional dragon boat races on the Main will start to the rhythmic beat of drums.

Mayor Josef will open the Museumsuferfest 2024 on Friday, August 23 at 6 p.m. in the Rainbow Area, between Holbeinsteg and Untermainbrücke on the southern bank of the Main.

The spectacular musical fireworks display on the Main will bring the festival to a sparkling close on Sunday evening at 10 pm.
