An Evening for Michael Bully Herbig at the Film Museum

Michael Bully Herbig has made millions of Germans laugh. The comedian, actor and director is known for his hugely successful comedic productions. His two classic films DER SCHUH DES MANITU (DE 2001) and (T)RAUMSCHIFF SURPRISE - PERIODE 1 (DE 2004) alone attracted more than 20 million people to the cinema. But now (for the time being) the fun is over. With his latest work BALLON, Herbig more than convincingly switched to the serious genre. He filmed the real story of an escape from the GDR by hot air balloon. The gripping thriller drama will be shown at the DFF cinema on 04 April. After the screening in the cinema, Herbig will then talk in the foyer with Urs Spörri (DFF) about his new film, about his career as a director, producer and actor as well as the work on BALLON.

Film starts: 6 p.m.

More about BALLON you can read HERE

Single tickets each 8 Euro/ 6 Euro reduced. Combiticket for both events 14 euros / 10 euros reduced. Reserved tickets must be picked up by Sunday, 31.03.

In addition to his visit to the DFF, Bully Herbig is also a guest at the SchulKinoWochen Hessen. On Friday, April 5, he drops by the Lumos Lichtspiel & Lounge, Nidda. For the participating students, this is sure to be a very special experience. With more than 100 films in 77 Hessian cinemas, current thematic focuses and an accompanying educational program, the SchulKinoWochen program offers school classes a variety of points of contact for lessons.

The focus of the "wild" 13th edition of SchulKinoWochen Hessen is the theme "Time in Film". Three film talks to film screenings at 9:45 am, 10:30 am and 1:30 pm in the Lumos Lichtspiel & Lounge Nidda invite students to talk with Herbig personally about the cinema event: "This year we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and BALLON celebrates freedom. Although I don't have an answer for everything, there's a lot to talk about!", Herbig announced.

In addition to the film screenings with Herbig in Frankfurt and Nidda, contemporary witness and film character Günter Wetzel will also be present for a film talk in Weilburg on Thursday, April 4. With a total of ten films, the focus series explores temporal phenomena in film in all facets and manifestations.

The offer of the SchulKinoWochen Hessen is aimed at groups of all ages and school types. Remaining places can be booked if necessary still up to the day of the conception, exclusively over the project office: Tel. 069 961220-683 or by mail to Julia Pietsch pietsch@dff.film
