(ffm) The weekly market on Buchrainplatz has been in existence for five years - this will be celebrated with a district market festival on Saturday, August 18. City Councilman Markus Frank will open the festival at 10 a.m. and is looking forward to the celebration: "The anniversary is a welcome occasion to celebrate the successful weekly market together with the district." Since opening in 2013, the Saturday market has become a popular alternative shopping opportunity and social meeting place for the citizens of the district. The Oberrad Regional Council and the market organizer, HFM Managementgesellschaft für Hafen und Markt, together with the market vendors, therefore invite you to the anniversary celebration with a diverse program.
Children of the "Förderverein offene Ganztags-Gruneliusschule" will cook under professional guidance with fresh market products for the district, while there will be an exhibition by the Geflügelzuchtverein Oberrad von 1894. Musical accompaniment will be provided by Helt Oncale, a native American from New Orleans. As every Saturday, the weekly market is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Buchrainplatz in Oberrad and offers the classic weekly market assortment of fruit, vegetables, flowers, butchery and baked goods as well as delicatessen. Wine and snacks invite you to linger. The anniversary celebration, which also takes place on Buchrainplatz, begins at 10 a.m. with a welcome to visitors by Markus Frank, head of the department of economics, and also lasts until 2 p.m.
