App auf die Toilette - Wenn es in Frankfurt mal schnell gehen muss

Everyone has probably experienced this: You're out and about in the city and suddenly feel the call of nature. But where to go now to do the emergency? Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH (FES) now has a helpful answer: the new service app for smartphones called "FES ToiletteFinder". The app is designed to make it easier for all Frankfurt residents and tourists to find the nearest public toilet. "Many people will benefit from such a digital service," FES Managing Director Benjamin Scheffler is convinced. After all, everyone has to at some point.

The ToiletFinder, which can be downloaded free of charge from both the Google Playstore and Apple's App Store, links the city map from Google Maps with location info for over 80 public toilets in the city. Those who have GPS signal enabled for their smartphone can easily see where the nearest public restroom is from their location. But even without a locating radio signal, you can easily find your way on the city map.

Included in the app is information about opening hours, user fees or whether a toilet is barrier-free. The availability of a changing table is also easy to see thanks to internationally common symbol language - a really helpful service, especially for young parents. At the twelve toilets operated by FES, users can also submit a report on the condition of the toilet, i.e. cleanliness, function and the like. The message is sent directly to the operator. FES currently operates twelve public toilet facilities in the city, for example under Paulsplatz, at the main cemetery, in Gallus, at Bornheim Uhrtürmchen, in Ostpark or at Höchster Marktplatz.

The app is to be expanded in the future: On the one hand, for the inclusion of more WCs, on the other hand, for new digital services from FES. But already the ToiletFinder for Frankfurt surpasses all private apps that promise such a service.
