Apply now: Frankfurt Intercultural Week

Making diversity visible

Associations and initiatives can now apply to organize the "Intercultural Week 2024"
Every year, Frankfurt Intercultural Week reflects Frankfurt's diversity anew. It is organized by changing organizers. Associations and initiatives have until Friday, March 1, to apply for the 2024 edition in the last week of September. The award is linked to city funding of 10,000 euros. This offers plenty of scope for a program with a self-defined focus - whether sport, culture or something else.

The Intercultural Week is intended to bring people together who might not otherwise meet. Mayor and Diversity Officer Nargess Eskandari-Grünberg says: "We need these encounters now more than ever. They help us to understand each other better. Getting to know each other in an uncomplicated way is therefore at the heart of the Intercultural Week. I invite Frankfurt associations and initiatives to apply and to support these encounters with their offers. It is also an opportunity for the organizers to introduce themselves to a broad public."

This does not necessarily require the creation of new events. Rather, the aim is to bundle existing offers under the umbrella of the Intercultural Week and make them visible. The organization's priority is to invite other associations and initiatives to take part and to set up and advertise a programme. Last year, the association "Über den Tellerrand Frankfurt" did this - with over 70 events from around 40 associations and initiatives.

Further information and the application form to download can be found on the website of the Office for Multicultural Affairs (AmkA) at amka.de/ikw.

The Frankfurt Intercultural Week has existed since 2006 and is backed by an initiative group that includes the AmkA as well as other municipal and church organizations and umbrella associations.
