Artistic redesign of the handrails on Konstablerwache: call for public graffiti competition

Under the name "Konsti-Live-Art", Frankfurt's Konstablerwache will be the scene of a new artistic initiative. In collaboration with local initiators, the City of Frankfurt is inviting people to take part in a public competition to redesign the 12 handrails on the Konstablerwache platform. The campaign visually enhances the vibrant hub of the city and offers Frankfurt the opportunity to present itself more beautifully in view of the upcoming European Championships.

We are looking for both established graffiti artists and anyone else who is interested in submitting their design proposal. The winners will have the unique opportunity to realize their artwork on site at Konstablerwache and actively shape the city. Thanks to the cooperation with Montana Cans, a leading manufacturer of spray cans, all necessary materials and resources will be provided for the participants.

Conditions of participation:

  • Anyone aged 12 and over can take part
  • No further qualification is required
  • Send us your design and a brief introduction to mail@konsti-live-art.de
  • Submission deadline is 09.05.24
  • The entries will be evaluated by an independent jury
  • Submit your artwork as a pdf or simply as a photo of your sketch, the important thing is that it is clearly recognizable
  • Here (link) you can find the design template to print out
  • Anti-democratic, racist, sexist, queer-hostile, offensive and drug-glorifying submissions will not be considered in the selection!

For more information on participation and the competition guidelines, please visit the website www.konsti-live-art.de.

This public intervention not only serves to artistically enrich Frankfurt's cityscape, but also aims to set an example for the integration of sub- and youth cultures into social processes and the joint shaping of your city.
