Building starts at MyZeil

And here we go: Over the next few months, up to 200 construction workers and fitters will be working simultaneously to ensure that FOOTOPIA and the other innovations at the MyZeil shopping center (<link https: www.frankfurt-tipp.de ffm-aktuell s ugc es-tut-sich-was-im-myzeil-foodtopia-nimmt-gestalt-an.html _blank>we told you about it in detail HERE) are implemented by spring 2019. 350,000 - 400,000 working hours and over 70 million euros will probably take the whole thing. The customers of the shopping center should have to accept as few restrictions as possible until completion. For example, much of the work will be done outside of business hours and the delivery of building materials will not take place via the Zeil, but from the rear via the Palais Quartier.

In addition to the many new gastronomic offerings, we can especially look forward to the new ASTOR Film Lounge. After the cinema had to close about two years ago due to the demolition of the Zeil Galerie, ASTOR boss Hans-Joachim Flebbe searched intensively for a new location for his premium cinema in Frankfurt. He quickly got into talks with center manager Marcus Schwartz, but the negotiations with ECE proved to be relatively difficult, albeit very fruitful. But now a happy Hans-Joachim Flebbe returned to Frankfurt to celebrate the start of construction for FOODTOPIA and the ASTOR Lounge here together with Marcus Schwartz.

First up is the demolition of the premises, which were primarily used by HalliGalli Kinderwelt. In September, ECE would then like to hand over the space to Flebbe so that work can then begin on the expansion of the total of five cinema halls. The largest hall will hold around 200 seats, two further halls 100 seats each and two so-called library cinemas cosy 45 - 50 seats. Guests can look forward to comfortable armchairs, plenty of legroom, service at the seat, as well as excellent technical equipment with laser projection and Dolby Atmos.

For Flebbe, it was important that the new ASTOR Film Lounge in Frankfurt had more to offer than just a cinema hall. Among other things, he wants to use the expanded space to show more films in their original version. Otherwise, the range of films will cover the upscale mainstream and thus be tailored to the somewhat older target audience. Regular ticket prices will again be around 15 euros, as in the old ASTOR Lounge.

With his premium cinemas, Flebbe wants to bring back the viewers who have lost the fun of cinema due to the multiplexes. "I thought to myself, someone should make a cinema that I would like to go to myself," says Flebbe. "With that, the idea for the ASTOR Cinema Lounge was born." With streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime making it tempting to enjoy movies primarily at home, Flebbe wants his cinema patrons to feel at home. "At home, you eat every day, but if you want something special, you go to a nice restaurant. We want to be the restaurant among cinemas," the cinema maker explained his vision, which has already been very successfully adopted in several cities.

Relaxed film enjoyment in a pleasant atmosphere - from 2019 finally back in Frankfurt! We are already looking forward to it!
