ATELIER ORBIT 24 - From Fechenheim into Orbit

Also in 2019, City of Frankfurt promotes the conversion of spaces for creative

(ffm) At Orber Straße 24, a formerly vacant office building from the 1970s, several spaces for creative people and artists have already been created with the help of the city's conversion funding.

Since the end of 2018, the top floor has also been used for creative purposes. The artists Eva Weingärtner and Dede Handon have set up their workspaces in the light-flooded area and also want to make their "ATELIER ORBIT24" accessible to interested guests by organizing art salons.

"Since we consider performance under the aspect of the expanded concept of art, the salon is also an art project itself. Exhibitions are planned in loose order, readings and performance events. Our studio kitchen is ready for creative processes; we look forward to eating and discussing together," Handon explains.

The "sublime place" Handon and Weingärtner rave about, with its proximity to the sky, seems to be the ideal starting point for productive work and intellectual flights of fancy.

More creative spaces are also to be created in 2019. The "Frankfurt Programme to Promote the Conversion of Vacant Spaces" and advice from the vacancy agency RADAR are still available.
