BACK TO THE CINEMA - Frankfurt cinemas reopen

With small steps, Frankfurt cinemas are approaching full opening again. The Deutsches Filmmuseum cinema is already running films again on weekends before returning to normal operation (under pandemic conditions) in early July. Mal Sehn` Kino in the Nordend is also showing its first films in June, before resuming operations in July - albeit with restrictions. And the Arthaus cinemas Cinema and Harmonie are looking forward to finally being able to offer real treats for film lovers again with the visit of UNDINE director Christian Petzold and the film series (Dis)Harmonie.

Of course, the cinema experience here - as in the ASTOR Film Lounge, which is already open - will be different from what we have known so far for some time. And when we will see really big blockbusters again is unfortunately still in the stars due to the developments especially in the US (just recently the theatrical release of Christopher Nolan's "Tenet" was postponed again). Still, it's nice that we finally get to see movies again where they were made for: on the big screen!

We have summarized the most important rules for your visit to the Frankfurt cinemas:

CINEMA + HARMONIE

Officially it starts here on 02. July again.

Tickets should be purchased online if possible. Those wishing to purchase tickets on site will need to leave their contact details at the ticket office counter. The necessary form can also be downloaded and filled out in advance, which can prevent longer queues.

Harmony and Cinéma will each open 30 minutes before the start of the first performance. There is always 30 to 45 minutes between each performance for entry and exit. Tickets should always be collected so that you can go straight into the auditorium afterwards. This is because the foyers, as beautifully redesigned as they have been in recent years, are unfortunately not currently allowed to be used for lingering.

In the auditoriums, the seating plans and booking system have been adjusted to ensure the required minimum distance of 1.5 metres.

We have installed hand sanitizer dispensers in the entrance areas as well as at the access points to the sanitary facilities.

Ticket control is contactless.

Mask obligation: In all premises of Harmonie and Cinéma and thus also at the entrance and exit to the halls and when visiting the sanitary facilities during the performances, masks are mandatory (mouth and nose covering). As soon as you are seated in your assigned seat in the auditorium, the masks may be removed.

Other than that: keep your distance and be considerate of the other visitors and staff, then nothing will stand in the way of a pleasant film experience!

MAL SEEK`

For your visit to the award-winning arthouse cinema in the North End, you must register at least 24 hours in advance for your selected screening at: info@malsehnkino.de stating whether you would like to come alone, in pairs, or if there are several people from the same household, in threes or fours.

When you enter the cinema premises, please wear a protective mask, which you can remove as soon as you are seated. Then follow the guidance system to the box office. Here it is still only possible to pay in cash (if possible fitting).

If not already done by e-mail, you must also enter your name, address and phone number in the prepared list

In the cinema hall there are 2 adjacent seats, which can be occupied, followed by several unavailable seats. Please only sit next to each other if you belong to the same household!

If you have to leave the auditorium during the film, please keep your distance from other visitors and put your mouth/nose protection back on. The same applies after the end of the screening!

In the beautiful Café, which belongs to the cinema, there is unfortunately currently no service. On days when there are two screenings, the cinema and Café must be vacated by patrons attending the first screening before patrons can line up to purchase tickets for the second screening in order to guarantee spacing rules.
