A few weeks ago, the Theatrallalla in Frankfurt's Nordend closed its doors. But as Thomas "Bäppi" Bäppler-Wolf had announced in advance, this does not mean, of course, that he lays on the lazy skin. On the contrary: the entertainer, actor, director, city guide and local politician has a lot planned for the coming months, even without a permanent theatre. The new Bäppi La Belle show "Ja ja der Äppelwoi" will celebrate its premiere at Darmstädter Hof at the end of August. In his usual humorous way, Bäppi will shed light on the history of apple wine, will tell how Äppelwoi came to Frankfurt and will also share anecdotes from his own life. Appropriate poems by Heinz Schenk and of course a lot of music may not be missing in the show. In addition to Schlager, the musical part this time also goes increasingly in the direction of operetta. And also two new songs of the 2019 deceased musician Dieter Adam, the inventor of the famous dialect song "Die Runkelroiweroppmaschin", can be heard in the new program. Bäppi fans will therefore once again get their money's worth. After the premiere on 31.08., the show will guest at various dates from the end of September to the end of November in the apple wine tavern "Zum Rad" in Seckbach.
Shortly after the show premiere, a completely new project celebrates its debut, which Bäppi has put together with Cajus Frick: "Game of Bäppi"! In this quiz, the audience will be put to the test in groups about their knowledge of Frankfurt. In the cosy atmosphere of the still quite young Wirtshaus am Hühnermarkt, 20 questions will have to be answered. In between there will be music and banter, with Bäppi being supported by a celebrity guest on each quiz evening. At the first Frankfurt Quiz on 02 September this will be hr presenter Tim Frühling, at the second date on 07 October Frankfurt's former mayor Petra Roth will do the honours. Next to the new show and the Frankfurt Quiz, there will be in the next few months again the popular Old Town tours and at "Theatrallalla on Tour" there is a reunion with Miss Moppel (among others in Oberrad), the "Zerdepperten Bembel" and the show "Hessisch fer Aafänger". If all goes well, the ".on Tour" version will not be permanent. The planning for a new permanent location is in full swing. Although Bäppi doesn't want to reveal any details yet, he hinted that there could be a new Theatrallalla from autumn 2020, which is very centrally located in Frankfurt and that would also make it possible to offer open-air theatre in the summer - with the option of moving the performance indoors in case of bad weather. This sounds very promising and we keep our fingers crossed that it works out!
Whoever thinks that's all, knows Bäppi badly: The announced Altstadt book is also coming this year. The successful Bond parody "Specktre" is to be released on DVD in October and preparations for the film version of "Miss Moppel" are also underway. And a series of short YouTube videos of the "Gayvengers" will also feature Bäppi.
We've saved a special highlight for last: On September 27, Bäppi will be celebrating "1 Year of New Old Town" at the Chicken Market. From 20 - 22 o'clock there is an open air performance - live, for free and outside! Who wants to experience the whole thing from one of the adjacent restaurants, but should definitely reserve a table before!
Boring it will be the Frankfurt all-round talent there certainly not - much to the delight of his fans!
