Unfortunately, it will again this year nothing with large carnival parades and Prunksitzungen. Our triple thundering "Helau" will have to be limited to the carnival hustle and bustle on television again in 2022. Fortunately, however, many bakers in Frankfurt and the surrounding area will once again spoil us with delicious crepes this year - for us, the perfect occasion to continue our popular BEST OF choices after a short break. So we will call you in the coming months again and again to tell us your favorites of selected delicacies - and off we go with the Kreppeln!
The popular pastry there were in past years yes already in very unusual, genuine Hessian variants. Thus courageous Kreppel fans could taste their favorite pastry already times with hand cheese filling or as green sauce Kreppel. And a few years ago, MyZeil even hosted a Kreppel Pop-Up Store for a few days in February, where not only Kreppel were sold, but also winkingly exhibited as Kreppel innovations such as KreppelTV, Kreppelwatch, iKreppel or KreppelColour. So it's fair to say that we Hessians love our Kreppel - not only, but especially at carnival time. And despite a certain experimentation of some confectioners are especially the classics still the big hit.
Whether classic unfilled or with jam, whether with custard, nougat or eggnog - for every taste there is now the right Kreppel. In the past, as part of our BEST OF surveys, we asked you every year where you think the best Kreppel are in and around Frankfurt. Multiple winners in this survey were the delicacies from the Konditorei-Café Altes Rathaus Hofheim (formerly Konditorei Hollhorst am Römer in Frankfurt).
