Bobic and Hellmann extend contracts - Ante Rebic also remains at Eintracht

Eintracht Frankfurt continues to rely on continuity at the top in the future. The Supervisory Board has reached agreement with both Executive Board members Fredi Bobic and Axel Hellmann to extend their contracts until June 30, 2023 respectively. The new Executive Board contracts come into effect with immediate effect and thus have a term of almost five years.

Fredi Bobic has held the position of Chief Sports Officer since summer 2016. Axel Hellmann has been a member of the Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG Board of Management since the summer of 2012. The 46-year-old lawyer is responsible for the Sales & Marketing, Media & Communications, Spectator Services, Merchandising, Legal & Fan Affairs and International Projects divisions.

The traditional club can also count on the services of top player and vice world champion Ante Rebic in the future. The arrow-quick offensive player extends his current contract by another year until June 30, 2022. Thus, the sporting management around Fredi Bobic and Bruno Hübner has closed an important position and bound an absolute top performer of the past two years to the club in the long term. "Ante is certainly one of the most positive phenomena of the World Cup, and we don't have to make any secret of the fact that this arouses desire. It speaks well for Eintracht Frankfurt that we have managed to retain such a strong player, who can definitely be described as a high-flyer. Ante was courted by a number of top clubs and also had one or two economically better offers on the table. The fact that he is staying with us shows that he has the eagle in his heart and that we are on the right track with our planning.

And it also shows that we have taken another step forward in terms of profitability and can keep top players," said Eintracht sporting director Bobic, who has been working meticulously on this ideal solution in recent days together with sporting director Hübner. For Bobic, Rebic is a key player in the coming season: "With his dynamism and speed, he fits perfectly into the system of our coach Adi Hütter. It was important to us that we continue to have his qualities in our ranks. For many Eintracht fans, Ante is an identification figure - not least because of his two wonderful goals in the cup final. Everyone keeping their fingers crossed for Eintracht Frankfurt can be happy about this great news."

Behind Rebic lies an eventful early summer. First, the Split-born striker achieved something historic with Frankfurt's fifth DFB Cup win. Rebic was the first Eintracht player ever to score two goals in a final, beating FC Bayern Munich 3-1, and thus played a key role in the Hessians' triumph. With the Croatian national team, he remained on the winning track at the FIFA World Cup and surprisingly reached the final. Again, it was Rebic who played an important role in coach Zlatko Dalic's concept.

Now Eintracht can continue to rely on Rebic's winning mentality. For Hübner, another cornerstone in the newly constructed team: "I always said in training camp that we are in a state of upheaval - but by no means lose our cool. It is a good sign in all respects that we can continue to count on Ante." In his 49 Bundesliga games so far, the Croatian has scored eight times (five assists). In the DFB Cup, Rebic was successful four times in eight games. A success story that Ante Rebic would like to continue in Frankfurt. (Eintracht Frankfurt Fussball AG)
