Especially when the sun is shining over Frankfurt, the beautiful Café in the Liebieghaus enjoys great popularity. It is not only the beautiful courtyard that invites you to linger and take a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The interior also scores with a certain quaint charm and a very pleasant atmosphere. But also the homemade cake and coffee specialties such as the popular "plum nut tart" or "Grandma's semolina cake" ensure that this small Café has developed into a real institution on the Museum Embankment. This has not changed by the fact that it has been run by the Liebieghaus itself for the past six months. That was one change that will now be followed by another. For now the equipment and infrastructure of the restaurant are to be improved for more optimal processes in the kitchen area and in the services. The previous historic and intimate character of the Cafés will be preserved for visitors as usual. And that is a good thing, because otherwise the Café in the Liebighaus would no longer be the place so appreciated by many Frankfurt residents and also numerous visitors to the city.
After the sanitary facilities were already renovated six months ago, the structural upgrading of the aging catering areas will begin on April 24. The focus will be on renewing the refrigeration and kitchen equipment in line with requirements. The kitchen and storage areas will receive improved fire protection, new wiring and more effective ventilation. This will greatly improve working conditions for staff.
A stall will be set up on the terrace from as early as 30 March, where the popular range will continue to be sold from 24 April until the summer. Visitors will not have to do without anything during this time - the usual Caféteam will be available to guests in the Liebieghaus Garden, inviting museum visitors, regulars and new guests to linger, relax and enjoy the terrace as before. The repair work should be completed by the middle of the summer.
After that, day-to-day business will additionally include the Fireside Room, adjacent to the previous Café space, with new, cushioned seating. In addition, visitors can enjoy free WiFi in the Café starting this summer. For the terrace area, new tables, chairs and parasols will be purchased to fit in with the atmosphere of the Liebieghaus Garden. All measures are being carried out extremely cautiously with due regard for the preservation of historical monuments.
So in the future, nothing will stand in the way of relaxed, tasty and cozy visits to one of the most beautiful Cafés "dribbdebach"!
