Chirping Forest Reading - Literature and Music in the City Forest

(ffm) How time flies: On Sunday, June 24, at 5 pm the traditional Waldlesung in the Schwanheim forest will take place for the 16th time. This year it goes high up, into the treetops, above the clouds, off into the air. With varied texts and musical interludes, hikers, cyclists and culture enthusiasts take off into the world of birds.

Friedrich Stolze was also a great bird lover. Petra Breitkreuz, head of the Stoltze Museum of the Frankfurter Sparkasse, reports on this. Fans of local poet Norbert Müller will also get their money's worth. The Schwanheim poet and local historian will read and make music. Whether nightingale, falcon, eagle, wren or swallow, the bird world is represented in the entertaining text selection diverse.

Dessi Teliatinowa accompanies the program with flute music. It will be accompanied by wild boar ham sandwiches and cider.

Location of the spectacle is at the rest area "An der Kobelt-Ruhe", just behind the forester's lodge in the Schwanheim forest. There, an improvised stage awaits the guests. In case of rain, the event will take place at the Schwanheim forestry office, Schwanheimer Bahnstraße 51.

The Waldlesung is an event of the Grünflächenamt, Abteilung StadtForst, the Grüngürtel Frankfurt, the Stadtteilbibliothek Schwanheim and its Förderkreis Schwalb.Admission is free.

Directions: The "Kobelt-Ruhe" rest area can be reached by tram line 12, final stop Rheinlandstraße. From there, walk about 10 minutes along Schwanheimer Bahnstraße in the direction of the forest (south), turn left at Schwanheimer Wiesen and then another 100 meters or so along the embankment to Kobelt-Ruhe. Parking is available at the Waldspielpark Schwanheim in Schwanheimer Bahnstraße.
