The museums - like all other cultural institutions - are currently closed. But on Saturday, December 12, you can at least breathe a little museum air. Because then the film museum opens its doors from 12 - 18 o'clock. You won't be able to visit the exhibitions of the DFF or watch a film in the cinema. But you can browse extensively in the museum shop for Christmas gifts for film lovers. Gift packages at special prices will make the hearts of Disney fans beat faster, exciting reading fodder will get cineastes through the cold days, while those who like to experiment will get their money's worth with handicraft sheets or analogue photography.
The extensive offer ranges from accompanying volumes and products for popular exhibitions and projects to magazines, standard works on film theory, film posters and postcards to handicraft sets for the home cinema. DVDs and Blu-rays of must-see films are on sale, as are numerous accessories for the current special exhibition "The Sound of Disney. 1928-1967," which we hope you'll be able to visit again soon. The museum shop offers visual gadgets not only for young but also for adult film fans. The DFF shop even holds a regional monopoly in the indulgence sector with the exquisite wines of the Francis Ford Coppola Winery.
Registration is not required. To maintain hygiene and spacing rules, the number of simultaneous shop visitors* is limited.
