What is enjoyed in our region as cider is more commonly known internationally as cider. A good reason, then, to rename the "Cider World" trade fair, which is geared towards internationality, to "Cider World". The fair, which is being held for the fifth time this year in the Gesellschaftshaus am Palmengarten, has been in a constant state of flux since its beginnings in the Römer and is becoming more and more popular - both with visitors and exhibitors - precisely because of these consistent further developments. This year, a total of 97 exhibitors are taking part, many of them for the first time. Companies will be travelling from Finland, Norway, Italy, Luxembourg and the USA to present their products to the trade public, dealers and other visitors to the fair. In total, 32 businesses will be celebrating their trade fair premiere in 2018.
The variety of products on offer bridges the gap between tradition and modernity and thus also perfectly represents the constantly growing cider market. This year, special attention will be paid to the guest country Ireland, which will be represented at the fair with 14 cider brands. To make CiderWorld even more attractive, the new CiderWorld Award will be presented for the first time this year. On the day before the fair, a jury of 30 people from different countries will choose the best cider in four categories. The award is the quasi-successor of the Pom d`or, but is even more versatile, transparent and international.
The CiderWorld shows once again how versatile and international the topic of cider is. Especially in Frankfurt, where on the one hand there is a close connection to the local Stöffche, but on the other hand cultural diversity is very important, it is extremely exciting to be able to look beyond one's own nose and see what delicious things are made from apples worldwide. For the second time, the trade fair will be accompanied by CiderWeek: In the week before the actual day of the trade fair, the theme of cider will be brought to the city in various locations and at different events.
