Clothes make the man: Rock'n Roll at the Palmengarten

Wearing a blue women's costume with light blue floral patterns made of lightweight Italian fabric, Stephanie Khiari rocked up at the Palm House at photographer Daniel Baldus' photo shoot for the "Kleider machen Leute" campaign. She used the garden rake as a guitar. A sweaty affair, because there was extreme humidity in the Palm House. She usually wears weatherproof and highly visible work clothes, because the professional driver of Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH (FES) is the driver/loader of a large waste disposal vehicle with a permissible total weight of 26 tonnes. The organic waste bin has a fortnightly emptying rhythm in Frankfurt - but since April 2019, Stephanie Khiari and her colleagues have been emptying the organic waste bins weekly in two test areas in a pilot project in cooperation with the City of Frankfurt's Environment Department. In parallel, the Environment Department Rosemarie Heilig and the FES, through a large-scale campaign called on citizens to consistently separate organic waste and plastic waste, because only from pure organic waste, good compost is created.

A nice example for the closed cycle of organic waste is the cooperation FES/Palmengarten/RMB: In Frankfurt's green oasis, the Palmengarten and Botanical Garden, a lot of organic waste is generated. This is collected by FES, recycled in RMB's biowaste treatment plant and converted into biogas and high-quality compost. The compost is returned to the palm garden as a natural soil conditioner. Stephanie Khiari, one of two FES drivers who chauffeurs the Mercedes Econic through Frankfurt's sometimes narrow streets, thinks this is a great cycle. "Especially in the summer months, the smell of organic waste is of course not the most pleasant, but you quickly get used to this side effect. I like my job very much ", says the mother of two children. For the campaign "Clothes make the man" she went in front of the camera for the first time. People with unusual or dangerous professions are the focus of this campaign by tailor Stephan Görner and PR and event maker Sven Müller. First of all, they are photographed authentically at their workplace in professional clothing. Afterwards they are dressed in noble, tailor-made threads by Stephan Görner and photographed in a beautiful location. This always results in great shots and exciting stories that are presented to the public. Recognition, respect and appreciation of professions and the people behind them, who usually do not handle in tailored suits at work, but without whom a city like Frankfurt would not function, are the message of the campaign.

As a highlight of the campaign, the charity gala "Kleider machen Leute" will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Hotel Kempinski Gravenbruch. Here, the six amateur models will not only walk the red carpet in the custom-made suits or costumes, but also with five prominent personalities from politics, show business and sports at the VIP fashion show on the catwalk. The event benefits the Leberecht Foundation. More than 120,000 euros have already been donated for needy children and their families. A varied programme awaits the ball guests. Tickets cost 250 euros. Included is a 3-course candlelight dinner, all drinks of the evening and the show program. The gala will be hosted by Evren Gezer.
