Compost Day 2018 - A feast for gardening enthusiasts

Finally, winter has been driven away. Everywhere it blossoms and greens - also on balconies and in gardens. For gardening enthusiasts in Frankfurt, there is one date they particularly look forward to: the Compost Day. This year it takes place on 28 April. The Rhein-Main Biokompost GmbH (RMB) invites on that Saturday from 10 to 16 o'clock all small and large garden friends to an informative and at the same time playful-amusing visit to Peter-Behrens-Strasse 8 in Frankfurt's Osthafen to celebrate the beginning of the gardening season together.

And there will be a whole lot of entertaining as well as helpful things on offer: Kids can frolic on the bouncy castle and ride on the small sweeper or garbage truck, while adults can have the quality of the garden soil they bring tested for free, learn about compost and how it's made, or take a tour of the biowaste treatment facility. This tour is particularly interesting, because the biogas produced by processing biowaste from Frankfurt and the district of Offenbach has been processed into biomethane and fed directly into the natural gas network since this year. You can get an idea of how this works here.

There is a 20 percent discount on all products from the RMB shop (including compost, potting and plant soil, seeds, substrates, mulches, fertilizers, etc.) on this day. On top of that - while stocks last - there will be a gift of a flower box with expertly potted balcony flowers.

The RMB is a 100 percent subsidiary of FES Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH. For more information on RMB, visit <link http: _blank>Http://
