Congratulations: Already more than 100,000 visitors to the Magritte exhibition

Great success for Kunsthalle SCHIRN: Since its opening on February 10, 2017, more than 100,000 visitors have already seen the exhibition "Magritte. The Betrayal of Images". And that's not all: visitors are also taking advantage of the extensive educational and mediation offerings before, during, and after their visit to the exhibition. The exhibition is extremely popular with the Schirn's young audience: around 4,000 schoolchildren have visited the exhibition in classes, two-thirds of whom have also taken part in guided tours and practical workshops. In addition, more than 2,000 children from the age of 3 to primary school age have already explored the MINISCHIRN with its special Magritte programme. In addition to a classic audio guide, a free children's audio tour, the specially developed WiFi offer "Magritte and You", the accompanying booklet and the catalogue are available to supplement individual visits to the exhibition. The free Digitorial (www.schirn.de/digitorial) has already been accessed over 31,000 times. In addition to the numerous booked tours, the daily public tours are particularly popular.

Dr. Philipp Demandt, director of the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt, comments: "Magritte inspires! More than 100,000 visitors have already come to the Schirn for the Belgian surrealist's major solo exhibition. To see this enthusiasm for his work and to share it with our visitors fills me and the Schirn team with great joy. The comprehensive education and outreach program for the exhibition has been very well received - especially the offerings for our young audience. It shows how the Schirn is lived."
