Construction work causes obstructions in Frankfurt tram traffic

Whoever travels by tram in Frankfurt next week should be prepared for restrictions and delays. More specifically, this affects tram lines 12, 15, 19 and 21, which will have to be interrupted or rerouted due to construction work from Monday, April 19, starting around 5 a.m., until Friday, April 23, around midnight.

The line 12 runs on its western section from Schwanheim Rheinlandstraße to Triftstraße and back. In the eastern section, it runs between Hugo-Junkers-Straße and Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße. From there, it replaces line 15 in the direction of Südbahnhof and Offenbach Stadtgrenze. Line 21 runs from Nied Kirche to Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße and is then diverted to Louisa Bahnhof. Lines 15 and 19 will not run during the above period.

Rail replacement service with buses

On the section affected by the construction work from Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße via Triftstraße to Haardtwaldplatz as well as to the stadium no trains are running. The VGF offers two bus lines as a substitute. The replacement buses to Haardtwaldplatz are marked SEV1. To Oberforsthaus, the line SEV2.

Because of the construction work, travel times between Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße and Haardtwaldplatz and Oberforsthaus may be longer. There will be no ticket sales on the buses.

Many alternatives

In addition to the replacement buses, there are many other ways to get around the construction site in Frankfurt's dense public transport network. The S-Bahn provides the connection from the main station to Niederrad (line 12 will be running there again). Lines 61, X61, X77 and 78 offer various connections from Südbahnhof to Triftstraße, Oberforsthaus, the stadium or Schwanheim. Bus line 78 also runs between Triftstraße, Haardtwaldplatz and Schwanheim.

You can find out about the timetables and the best alternative connections via the RMV app and on http://www.rmv-frankfurt.de. The staff at the RMV service telephone 069/24248024 are also available around the clock and will be happy to help you.
