Cycling races on May 1 - How do the suburban and underground trains run?

(kus) On May 1, the cycling classic "Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt" traditionally takes place. <link https: www.frankfurt-tipp.de veranstaltungen s event radrennen-rund-um-den-finanzplatz-eschborn-frankfurt.html _blank>You can find all info about the races and attractive route points HERE.

For the approximately 6,000 cyclists, numerous roads will be closed in the Rhine-Main area. The start is in Eschborn, the finish is in Frankfurt at the Alte Oper, where the pros will arrive in the late afternoon. In addition to car traffic, numerous tram and bus lines will be affected by closures.

RMV and traffiQ recommend using S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains. The S-Bahns will run according to the timetable, and for the U-Bahns there will only be restrictions on two lines (U2 and U3) outside Frankfurt. All subway lines run with two, three or even four cars.

The destination area at the Alte Oper is easily accessible by S-Bahn and U-Bahn. The "Taunusanlage" S-Bahn station, where lines S1 to S6, S8 and S9 stop, is just a few metres away. The underground lines U6 and U7 stop practically directly below the finish line, at the "Alte Oper" station. All subway lines run with two or three cars and thus offer more space than usual. The U7 line, as well as many tram and bus lines, will run quarter-hourly from around 8 a.m. instead of only every 30 minutes.

Spectators should also come to the circuit through Frankfurt city centre preferably by public transport to avoid traffic jams, diversions and the search for parking spaces.

All passengers are advised to check the timetable information at <link http: www.rmv.de>

www.rmv.de

before the start of the journey on 1 May or call the RMV service telephone on 069/24248024 for information.
