Darth Vader lands at Frankfurt Airport

Play and fun at the Airport4Family family festival

Ah yes, wanderlust! Watching the many travellers at Frankfurt Airport heading off to distant lands or the many planes taking off from the visitors' terrace makes you want to fly out of here as soon as possible. Not so on September 10. Fraport and RheinMain4Family invite you to a fantastic family festival that will quickly make you forget all about wanderlust. The Airport4Family family festival in Terminal 2 offers a varied program for children of all ages. The king of children's disco Volker Rosin will sing his greatest hits for the kids. Children's musician Oliver Mager and the twins Finn and Jonas from this year's season of the KiKa casting show "Dein Song" will delight visitors with their songs. The largest Star Wars costume club in the world (501st Legion German Garrison) will pay a visit to the festival with Darth Vader, Stormtroopers and Co.

The girls in particular will be delighted: the voluntary organisation The Frozensquad will also be at the Airport4Family Fest in costumes from the Disney film "The Ice Queen". Children can also take a very special souvenir photo with the TV hero Fireman Sam. Exciting hands-on activities are also planned: For example, little pilots can experience what it feels like to pilot a large jet in the flight simulator. Parents can get advice from experts from many airlines, tour operators and travel portals at the holiday market.

Airplanes from all over the world marvel at take-off and landing, watch the vehicles on the apron and run around in the McDonald's® indoor playground: Frankfurt Airport is a perfect destination for families in itself. On Airport4Family Day, they can experience all this and much more. RheinMain4Family and Fraport, together with national and international partners, have planned a day full of fun and wonderful activities.

Families can also look forward to a stage with a fairy tale program by the Galli Theater Wiesbaden, performances by sports clubs from the region, an exhibition by the Senckenberg Museum with a handicrafts table, face painting for children and an experiment station by the Experiminta Science Center. The little ones can race around the visitors' terrace on bobby cars, have fun in a bouncy castle and design their own T-shirts. Keep your fingers crossed at the McDonald's® wheel of fortune. Ronald McDonald has brought along some great prizes for children. Those who collect stamps at the stands during the Airport4Family competition rally will also have the chance to win a great travel voucher. In total, prizes worth more than 25,000 euros will be raffled off at the Airport4Family family festival.

Donations will also be collected on Airport4Family Day for the benefit of the Bärenherz Foundation, Frankfurt Children's Office and Stiftung Lesen. The Köhler company will be donating 1,500 boxes of its popular chocolate mousse for the charity partners. These can then be taken and enjoyed at the Airport4Family Fest in return for a donation.

RPR1 presenter Laura Nowak will lead the way through the colourful festive programme. The Airport4Family Fest will be celebrated on 10 September 2017 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Terminal 2 and on the Visitors' Terrace.

Admission - including to the Visitors' Terrace - and four hours' parking (in Terminal 2: multi-storey car park P8, P9) are free for all visitors.

Every year in May, Trifels Verlag organizes the Festival4Family in the Commerzbank Arena, which has become one of the most important family festivals in Germany. Fraport has also been present here for many years.
