Eintracht legend Bernd Hölzenbein is dead

On Monday, Bernd Hölzenbein passed away at the age of 78. He was not only part of the 1974 world champion team, but also an outstanding personality for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Hölzenbein played for Eintracht Frankfurt from 1967 to 1981 and played a total of 420 games for the club. He was a key figure in the offense and was instrumental in winning the UEFA Cup in 1980 and the DFB Cup three times (1974, 1975 and 1981).

After a stay in the USA, Hölzenbein returned to Frankfurt. There he played a significant role in the team's success in the early 1990s as manager and later also acted as a scout for the club.
