Eintracht may play in front of fans against TSG Hoffenheim

The surge in corona cases in Frankfurt looks set to have no consequences for Eintracht's home game tomorrow. Fans who actually wanted to go to the stadium on Saturday to cheer on their team in the Bundesliga match against TSG Hoffenheim have had to fear that this will be banned at short notice, as the incidence in the Main metropolis is now 42, well above the second warning level of 35 cases, according to the Robert Koch Institute. But now the club and its fans can breathe a sigh of relief: Eintracht Frankfurt was informed at midday by the Frankfurt City Health Department and Head of Health Stefan Majer that the sudden rise in the so-called seven-day incidence for the city of Frankfurt to 42.0 was due to a localized and traceable infection. The value alone therefore had no impact on the existing permit situation, so that nothing more stands in the way of holding the match in front of 8,000 spectators on the basis of Eintracht Frankfurt's spectator and hygiene concept, which is already familiar from the first home match against Arminia Bielefeld.

Despite this, it is of course true, especially in view of the rising infection figures everywhere, that hygiene rules must be consistently implemented and adhered to. "We all have a responsibility to comply with hygiene regulations, especially with regard to distance rules and the mouth-nose-protection obligation, in order to minimise the risk of infection. This affects not only the 8,000 fans on Saturday, but all of us in our daily lives if we want to get back to the point of being able to experience football in full stadiums again at some point," said board member Axel Hellmann.

Therefore, the following applies to everyone who wants to go to the stadium tomorrow: Travel by car if possible (there are plenty of parking spaces available) or by bike. If that is not possible, wear in buses and trains as well as in the stadium (up to your seat) absolutely a mouth-nose protection and pay attention to the necessary distance - even if you, what we hope of course, at the end of pure victory joy around the neck would like to fall. Because only then football games in front of fans, but also other events remain possible at least on a small scale.
