Football goal, salad dressing and party in zero gravity -WORLD CLUB DOME Zero Gravity 2019

Big station at Frankfurt Airport: on Monday, the venue hosted numerous celebrities who accepted the invitation of Bernd Breiter and the BigCityBeats team to be part of the second edition of the WORLD CLUB DOME Zero Gravity event: An exclusive party in zero gravity, which started the countdown to this year's WORLD CLUB DOME at the Commerzbank Arena in a spectacular way. For this event, an Airbus A 310 was transformed into the smallest - and highest - club in the world in cooperation with Fraport and the ESA, the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt. The aircraft, which is otherwise used for training astronauts, was transformed into a vibrant club arena for just under 5 hours, offering the celebrity passengers a truly unique experience.

50 VIPS from around the world experienced a total of 16 parabolas leading to zero gravity moments during the flight. Among them were TV chef Tim Mälzer, Olympic champion Fabian Hambüchen, Germany's most successful hip-hop band, the Fantastischen Vier, Eintracht footballer Sébastien Haller, Australian star DJ Timmy Trumpet or actress Dascha Polanco, known from the Netflix series "Orange is the new black". They and the other guests not only experienced fascinating moments of weightlessness. For this Zero Gravity event, the makers had also come up with some very special highlights.

One of these highlights was provided by Eintracht star Sébastien Haller, who was accompanied by Fredi Bobic on this flight. Haller was the first footballer to score a goal in zero gravity. On his very first attempt, the ball landed in the goal. Haller was particularly happy about this, as he recounted after landing, because afterwards he could simply celebrate. Bobic also spoke of an incredible experience. Tim Mälzer also caused a premiere: He created the first salad dressing in weightlessness. Beforehand, however, he was worried that he would be the only one not to take off. But that worry was unwarranted: "I haven't felt this light in years," he says after landing, adding with a laugh, "Weightlessness is the perfect state for body victims like me."

Thomas D. of the Fantastischen Vier was then the first to try the salad dressing at the press conference: "The salad tastes good, only the dressing is sh.", he said laughing and immediately afterwards: "No, tastes really delicious!" The Fantas also had a lot of fun, though four parabolic flights would have been enough for them. Smudo tells laughing: "The toilets were nailed shut and there was loud techno music through the machine. We already thought we had crashed and that would be hell." But at the latest when Andy Ypsilon floated into the goal as a living football, the fun factor was back on top.

Another premiere was provided by WORLD CLUB DOME experienced DJ Le Shuuk, who had provided relaxed beats on the floor in front of the PK last year. This year he went on board, where the likeable DJ and producer from Stuttgart celebrated the premiere of his new single GOLD BABY at an altitude of 8500 metres. Before take-off, Le Shuuk was still worried that his stomach might rebel during the parabolic flights. But like all the other VIPs, he was spared any nausea and was able to enjoy the unique event including the weightless release party of his single to the fullest.

At the press conference, which was held at the converted station in Terminal 2 in front of press representatives from all over the world, it was obvious to the celebrities as well as the organizers how much fun this event was. For Jürgen Harrer from FRAPORT AG, the effort was definitely worth it. According to Harrer, it was a great logistical challenge. Especially the many cars that would have additionally driven across the runway at no small speed had to be integrated into the handling of normal flight operations. But when you see what came out of it, the cooperation with BigCityBeats for this great project paid off in every respect.

No question: Bernd Breiter has once again managed to outdo himself. We can't wait to see what he has come up with for the SPACE EDITION of the BigCityBeats WORLD CLUB DOME, which will attract electronic music fans from all over the world to Frankfurt from 07 - 09 June to once again transform the Commerzbank Arena into the biggest club in the world.
