Restaurant Lafleur, which has been awarded 2 Michelin stars since November 2013, will in future be one of the few exclusive members of the restaurant association "Les grandes tables du monde". This was formally announced last night at the association's annual convention on the 65th floor of the NY Rockefeller Center in the Rainbow Room.
The association "Les grandes tables du monde" is made up of passionate restaurateurs with a burning passion for haute cuisine and service excellence. Its members include Pierre Gagnaire in Paris Everest in Chicago and Arzak in Spain.
True to the motto "Traditions & Qualité" the members stand for classic French cuisine, courteous service and the best ingredients that make your dishes unique. The common goal of all members is to cultivate the dining culture and values of fine dining. The exchange among the best of the best promotes the entire industry and together accompanies the gastronomic path to the future, while preserving important traditions.
Writer Jean Cocteau found the appropriate words for this: "Tradition is an eternal movement. It moves forward, it changes, it lives. "
Currently, the association consists of some 170 exceptional restaurants in 24 countries on 5 continents. Admission criteria for new members are appropriately strict, as only those restaurants that fully identify with the association's values are accepted. Only a few new aspirants qualify each year. Admission is by address from among the presidium from Paris. Restaurant Lafleur was also endorsed by its 4 sponsors, Restaurant Vendôme, Gästehaus Klaus Erfort, Tantris and Schwarzwaldstube/Traube Tonbach, and was thus admitted to the Association.
