The Brentanobad is bursting with life in summer. Here, the most diverse people meet each other and make it clear how harmonious togetherness can look in a colorful city like Frankfurt. This is why the city's largest open-air swimming pool is the perfect location for the first Asian Food Festival, which will transform the Brentanobad into the city's largest picnic area on 15 and 16 September. Of course, the focus will be on the world of Asian delicacies. 15 food trucks and food stalls will be offering both traditional dishes and exciting Asian fusion menus. The offerings come from Korea, India, the Philippines, Iran, China, Vietnam or even Thailand. Grilled meats, seafood, sushi rolls or vegan offerings are all on the diverse menu on offer here. Street food start-ups and experienced chefs from all over Germany will ensure that the first Asian Food Festival will leave a lasting impression on visitors.
But it's not just the taste buds that are to be pampered. Rather, the aim of the festival is to allow visitors to experience Asia's multifaceted culture first-hand. Thus, in addition to the culinary offerings, there will be dance and music performances of the various cultures. As a special highlight, star guest Sandhy Sondoro, successful singer from Indonesia, will perform and prove to the Frankfurt audience why he rightly won the international NEW WAVE Contest for young pop musicians in 2009. Sandhy Sondoro will perform on 16.09. at 4 p.m.
In addition, workshops as well as Tai Chi and Yoga classes will be offered - the Brentanobad proves to be the perfect location for this as well! Pure relaxation will be offered by the Asia Chillout Garden, which offers visitors a little break from the festival hustle and bustle. And of course, the younger visitors have also been thought of: a "Kids Corner" will offer lots of fun with face painting, a bouncy castle or football tournaments.
Inspired by the African Food Festival, which has celebrated great successes in Berlin and Hamburg, organiser Sabastiao Pembele not only wants to offer guests a colourful festival for the whole family, but also to make authentic, creative cuisine from Asia known and to promote international understanding. And for this, says Pembele, Frankfurt with its cultural diversity is simply the perfect location.
