434 kilograms of chestnuts were handed in at the end of September by more than 30 children in the district forestry Schwanheim in Frankfurt's city forest for the wild animals.
Who has collected further diligently, may deliver the fruits gladly with the second delivery date on Thursday, 19 October, from 16 to 18 o'clock at the information center StadtWaldHaus/Fasanerie. The chestnuts are weighed directly, and per kilo the collectors receive 10 cents.
The chestnuts must not be moldy, acorns are not accepted. The chestnuts serve as a feed supplement for the mouflons and fallow deer that live in the enclosures of the pheasantry at StadtWaldHaus. Those who bring a little more time are also welcome to join the StadtWaldHaus team in feeding the deer in the pheasantry. Registration is not necessary.
