So or something like that is the word again from now on, because the hotly awaited new edition of the FRANKFURT Cities-Edition of MONOPOLY is finally here! The first Frankfurt Edition from 2011 has not been available for a while, but was so well received that the makers decided to give our beautiful city a re-released, custom cities edition of MONOPOLY.
The highlight is that not simply the first edition was produced again, but a completely revised version of this edition is available. Even who owns the old edition, gets here virtually a whole new game offered. The Frankfurt sights have been given a much higher priority than in the first edition. Also the integration of local traditional companies, clubs or media was desired, as in other editions. When it was announced that a new Frankfurt edition would be produced, the team at Winning Moves called on the people of Frankfurt to vote on which places and which features of the city would feature in the game. "Of course, many of the well-known landmarks were included," says Roland Mietkiewicz from Winning Moves at the presentation of the new game in front of the Hessen Shop at the Kleinmarkthalle, another local partner of the Frankfurt edition. But there were also suggestions that were completely unknown to him. One of Frankfurt's favourite places, which made it onto the game board, is unfortunately not accessible at the moment: the Garden of Heavenly Peace in Bethmann Park, is closed to the public after a fire. However, it was left in the game anyway, not only as a small tribute to this beautiful garden, but also in the hope that the people of Frankfurt will soon be able to visit it again, not only when playing Monopoly.
This new Frankfurt edition has turned out really nice. The makers have succeeded - also with the help of the many suggestions from Frankfurt residents - in giving this game its very special regional flair. It is a game by citizens for citizens - and that is exactly what makes it so successful. Roland Mietkiewicz is also very pleased with the response to the new Frankfurt edition: "We've already pressed the button for the follow-up production," he tells us. Although the high demand might mean that not everyone who wanted to put the game under the Christmas tree will be able to do so, he promises that supplies will be coming as soon as possible.
