Frankfurt Vaccination Center Moves

Frankfurt Vaccination Center Moves

The Frankfurt Vaccination Center in the Festhalle will be history in a few days. However, the vaccination campaign has not progressed far enough to completely abandon such a service. Therefore, the administrative staff of the city of Frankfurt has decided to continue to offer Frankfurt residents the opportunity to get vaccinated quickly and easily at a vaccination center. Therefore, the vaccination center in the Festhalle closes its doors on Saturday, September 18, to open them again directly on Tuesday, September 21, in the Messehalle 1.2 in the immediate vicinity of the Festhalle.

"The vaccination center will remain as a fixed institution in Frankfurt the central contact point for Corona protection vaccination," says Dr. Peter Tinnemann, head of the health department. "Uncomplicated, without pre-registration and free of charge, all those willing to be vaccinated can get vaccinated here."

All those who had already booked an appointment to take place on September 19 or 20 need not worry: Where possible, rescheduled appointments have already been made. For those people who could not be reached for re-booking, the Vaccination Centre is holding a small vaccination unit. There will be no impromptu vaccinations during these two days due to the move. Starting Tuesday, Sept. 21, immunizations will once again be available on a no-fuss, no-appointment basis. The new vaccination centre will be open Monday to Friday from 12pm to 7pm. Second vaccination appointments already booked outside the new opening hours can be taken between 12pm and 6pm on Mondays to Fridays from the next opening day after the appointment is booked. Appointments at weekends will be rescheduled for the following working day.

Vaccination consultations will continue to be available at the Frankfurt Vaccination Centre as part of the vaccination process. There are always doctors and pediatricians on site for detailed discussions. They are happy to provide information to those wishing to be vaccinated and answer any questions they may have about vaccination. Vaccination consultations for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers are also offered as part of the vaccination process and can take place without an appointment or pre-registration.

"Increasingly, we are again seeing more Covid 19 patients in intensive care units with severe courses of disease," Tinnemann elaborates. "Vaccinations protect against this, and the new Frankfurt Vaccination Center can offer vaccinations to all of them."

Visitors will be directed to Exhibition Hall 1.2 via the City entrance (Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage). Since 27 December 2020, a total of almost 500,000 vaccinations have been carried out at the Frankfurt Vaccination Centre. All vaccination information is provided by the City of Frankfurt's info page at www.frankfurt.de/coronavirus-fragen-und-antworten. All dates for special vaccination campaigns in the Frankfurt city area can be found at www.frankfurt.de/sonderimpfaktionen
