Frankfurt Zoo celebrates Tiger Day on July 29

(kus) The conservation ambassadors of the Frankfurt Zoological Society and Frankfurt Zoo will celebrate the International Tiger Conservation Day on Saturday, July 29,. With this, they want to draw attention to the threat to the Asian big cats and the dwindling of their habitats. As well as exciting info and talks about the majestic big cats, there will be a tiger quiz and much more for younger zoo visitors.

The two Sumatran tigers, Vanni and Malea, are among the favourites of zoo visitors. But what about their conspecifics on Sumatra? And what does our consumer behaviour have to do with it? The nature conservation ambassadors will provide information about this. In short lectures, the field work of the Zoological Society on Sumatra is presented and it is explained why it is also important for us in Germany to protect the wild there. The keepers in the cat jungle tell interesting things about the life of the tigers in the zoo.

In cooperation with the police headquarters Frankfurt K61, a tiger skin is presented - a special feature, because it is a confiscated fur. Young zoo visitors can have themselves transformed into little tigers during the children's make-up session. A knowledge quiz and a craft table invite visitors to linger at the action stalls near the Cat Jungle.

The Tiger Conservation Day lasts from 10am to 6pm and takes place around the Cat Jungle at Frankfurt Zoo. Regular admission prices apply
