Frankfurt's prince and princess enthroned

The climax of the fifth season is approaching with great strides. Before it goes at the beginning of March in various parades through the city and the region, the Frankfurt prince and princess Pascal I. and Selina I. was enthroned now. Under the motto "FastnachtsFESt is an adornment - no one does it like we do", the Grand Council of Carnival Associations and many guests attended this festive and foolish occasion on Friday, 15 February. Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann took the opportunity to thank all carnival participants for their commitment and he gave his wishes to the newly crowned in the "Narrenzelt" of the Hausmann family on Ratsweg.

"On the enthronement, we look forward for a long time. The Prince and Princess the very best, wish you today´ your guests," said the city leader in his Büttenrede. "The FastnachtsFESt is an adornment and no one can do it like you! I also greet the Prinz´lich Haus, the FES, I know´ me!" added Feldmann. The "Prinzliches Haus" is the term used by the Mardi Gras to describe the main sponsor of each campaign. This year it is the municipal company Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH. Pascal I and Selina I are both employed by the company.

The Lord Mayor let the past year pass in review in the Bütt: "See un´sre Eintracht: top group! These guys are a super squad. Everyone in the city loves them because they have a lot to offer: First the cup, then the league, there's never been anything so great." In doing so, he added, referring to Frankfurt's internationality: "You come from 17 nations, you'll soon become icons!"

What would a retrospective be without mentioning the new heart of Frankfurt. "The new old town, what a hit - I don't think anyone will be able to match it anytime soon! Japanese, Russians and Chinese, have all been there. Yes our Frankfurt, that pleases, welcome is the whole world," said the mayor.

The event was attended by representatives of Frankfurt's carnival associations. Axel Heilmann, president of the Grand Council, led through the enthronement in his tried and tested manner. There are 60 clubs participating in this year's campaign. Around 1800 volunteers will support the Frankfurt carnival procession on Sunday, March 3
