Restaurant Emma Metzler opens under new management
Under new management and with a new concept, life is returning to the "Emma Metzler": after extensive renovation work, the restaurant in the Museum Angewandte Kunst officially reopened on Friday, 31 March 2017.
The young chef Anton de Bruyn and his team serve fresh, uncomplicated cuisine at moderate prices. In addition to creativity and care in preparation, great emphasis is placed on seasonal ingredients from the region, organic labels and meat from species-appropriate animal husbandry, as well as close interaction with suppliers. Special attention is paid to selected organic and naturally produced wines from Europe. Guest chefs will also show their skills at the "Emma Metzler" and vintners will present their wines. In the afternoon, there will be freshly baked cakes and homemade cream puffs, along with coffee from Frankfurt's Due Mani roastery.
The interior, designed in a friendly way by Uwe Fischer with a clear colour scheme, warm light and light maple tables, offers space for 80 guests. In summer, the terrace at Metzlerpark invites you to relax and enjoy the summer in Frankfurt.
Anton de Bruyn and museum director Matthias Wagner K plan a close collaboration between restaurant and museum. Just as the museum offers space for sensory experience and social negotiation, the restaurant will in future be a place for exchange, where what is seen and experienced in the museum, but also the food itself and the processes involved, can be reflected upon and discussed. Museum director Matthias Wagner K: "By reopening the Emma Metzler restaurant, we want to re-establish this unique place as an attractive meeting place. As an interface between inside and outside, as a place to linger, as a place for discourse that begins in the museum and can be continued in the Emma Metzler."
