From now on free admission to 18 Frankfurt museums for around 14,000 students

New cooperation between the Department of Culture and Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences

(kus) From now on, students of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (FRA-UAS) have the opportunity to visit 18 Frankfurt museums free of charge with their student ID. For the Kulturticket, a joint project of the Department of Culture and the AStA of FRA-UAS, students pay only one euro per semester.

"I am very pleased that students of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences now have the Kulturticket in their pocket with their student ID. Everyone is cordially invited to get to know the participating museums. A visit to a museum can help to balance out everyday university life or deepen your studies, and must not be allowed to fail due to a tight budget. With the General Students' Committee (AStA) of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, we have gained a great and very committed cooperation partner," emphasizes Head of the Department of Culture Ina Hartwig.

The AStA of FRA-UAS was involved in the negotiations and welcomes the result: "Access to cultural offerings should not be a luxury good, but a matter of course. Therefore, we are pleased that now our university can also benefit from the wide range of Frankfurt's museums. The Kulturticket also enables us students to further our education outside our own subject area, away from lectures and seminars."

The university management adds: "We welcome the introduction of a Kulturticket for our students. The Kulturticket allows students to visit all of the city's museums, providing another opportunity for our students to connect with the city while looking beyond the confines of their academic studies."

In addition to Goethe University Frankfurt, FRA-UAS is the second university with which the Department of Cultural Affairs is entering into a cooperative arrangement. The Kulturticket enables around 60,000 Frankfurt students to experience Frankfurt's museum diversity free of charge. All they have to do is show their student ID at the ticket office and they can visit all the permanent and special exhibitions of the participating museums free of charge. The new cooperation of the Department of Culture is a further step towards opening doors and enabling cultural education and participation for all.

In addition to the existing offer for children and young people under the age of 18, students can also get to know and use the city's broad cultural programme free of charge.

The participating museums are: Archaeological Museum, Caricatura Museum, German Architecture Museum, German Film Museum, Hindemith Cabinet, Historical Museum, Icon Museum, Institute of Urban History, Jewish Museum (reopening in 2019), Children's Museum, MMK 1|2|3 of the MMK Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Applied Arts, Museum Giersch of the Goethe University, Museum Judengasse, Porcelain Museum and World Cultures Museum.
