The international cooking competition Bocuse d'0r offers its first highlight on March 26 in Frankfurt. At the Nestlé Professional service centre, four chefs will compete against each other to secure a place at the Bocuse d'0r Europe 2018 in Turin (11/12 June) - the very big chance to enter the final, the Bocuse d'Or Lyon 2019. The huge popularity this competition continues to receive in this edition shows that the vision of recently deceased Master Chef Paul Bocuse to create a springboard for promising chefs lives on more than ever.
Qualified for the Bocuse d'0r Germany finals in Frankfurt are Johannes Steiger from Scharffs Schlossweinstube in Heidelberg, Franz-Josef Unterlechner from Hotel Königshof in Munich, Matthias Walter from Burg Staufeneck near Stuttgart and Marvin Böhm from aqua at The Ritz Carlton Wolfsburg. In the Culinary area of the Service Center, these four candidates will give their best at the stove in front of guests, members of the press and, of course, for the jury consisting of well-known star chefs.
In professionally equipped kitchens, the chefs and their assistants will prepare a total of two main dishes with side dishes and sauces according to their own recipes. The highlight of the competition is the presentation of the dishes, the tasting by the expert jury and the subsequent awarding of points for taste and innovative presentation. At the subsequent award ceremony, this year's winner of the Bocuse d'Or Germany 2018 will be crowned.
