Going on a journey through time with LEGO during the winter holidays

(kus) Only until January 8, 2017, the Archaeological Museum is showing in the family exhibition "LEGO Time Travel. Past Worlds - Rebuilt", how to bring (prehistoric) history to life with the colourful little bricks. Stone Age hunters hunt down a mammoth, Roman soldiers march along the Limes, Vikings set sail on their ship, and medieval merchants sell their wares at the market.

The certified LEGO model builders from "Design in Stein" have created six miniature worlds that show how people lived in times long past. But what did the things people used back then look like in reality? For comparison, the exhibition shows rarely seen original finds from the museum's extensive collection. Inspired by the LEGO models, children can become master builders themselves during the general opening hours and recreate scenes from the past with LEGO bricks. For the little creative builders under five, there will be a play corner with DUPLO bricks.

Through January 8, 2017, the museum will offer two guided time travel tours every Sunday for the special exhibit - one at 2 p.m. and the other at 3:30 p.m. There will be no guided time travel on January 1, 2017. However, the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for builders young and old.

The guided time travels are free. The regular admission of 7 euros, reduced 3.50 euros applies. Registration is not required. Meeting point is the museum foyer.

Guided time travel for school classes, day care centers, children's and youth centers, private children's groups and children's birthday parties can be booked from Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., by calling 069/212-39344 or by emailing <link>fuehrungen.archaeologie@stadt-frankfurt.de . Until 8. January 2017, it is offering high-quality publications as well as exhibition catalogues from its regular holdings at up to 80 percent off
