Gustav in Frankfurt is one of the five most radical regional restaurants in Germany

Internationality plays a big role in the gastronomy scene. In a city like Frankfurt, the culinary doors to distant countries open again and again. This makes the city's gastronomic landscape exciting and varied. But regionality is also playing an increasingly important role. The reinterpretation of familiar dishes in particular makes regional cuisine extremely exciting. This has also been recognised by the makers of the renowned Manager Magazin, who have now chosen the "five most radical regional restaurants in Germany". Among these five houses is also one from Frankfurt: The GUSTAV.

What makes this restaurant so special, you notice as soon as you enter: Bauhaus-inspired colors and shapes dominate here, enriched with unconventional objects by young Frankfurt artists. But of course a restaurant does not live (only) from its atmosphere, but from its cuisine. And chef Jochim Busch, who was featured in Gault Millau 2016 as »Discovery of the Year«, ensures that this offers artisanal excellence. He searches the region - from the Rhön and Rheingau to the Odenwald and Wetterau - for new, exciting ingredients, which he then combines in a very special way. Freshness and authenticity are always at the forefront.

From the regularly changing dishes of the evening menu, the guest puts together his three-, four-, five- or six-course menu. At lunchtime, diners can choose between the two- or three-course menu. Gustav is the second restaurant of Frankfurt restaurateurs Milica Trajkovska Scheiber and Matthias Scheiber, alongside &raquo;Weinsinn&laquo; which opened in 2009. Both restaurants are listed with one star each in the Guide Michelin Germany.
