Happy Birthday, English Theatre: A 40th birthday tram

There is a reason to celebrate at the English Theatre. Not only does the theatre underscore the city's international character and consistently draw attention beyond the city limits with top-notch productions. No, this season the English Theatre is also celebrating its 40th birthday! And it will be celebrated in a very special way. In keeping with the motto of the anniversary season, "40 years of making a scene", the English Theatre Frankfurt, together with the Frankfurt public transport company, is inviting the public to a joint trip through the Main metropolis - for a whole year. Bright red, like the buses in London and decorated with the motifs of the Jubilee Season, the English Theatre tram will travel through the city for the entire season, making it just that little bit more colourful.

Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann expressed his congratulations to the theatre at the inauguration of the tram: He said the theatre is an expression of our attitude to life and has steadily grown in importance over the past 40 years of its existence. "It is not only a point of contact for that majority of Frankfurt residents with an international background, but year after year for quite a few thousand students," said the Lord Mayor.

In addition to the Frankfurt city leader, Eschborn Mayor Mathias Geiger, Thomas Wissgott, the managing director of the VGF and the real "Frankfürter Mädsche" Sonya Kraus also came to the inauguration of the track on August 21. Sonya Kraus, who made her theatre debut at the English Theatre in 2008 in "A Picasso" as Gestapo agent Fräulein Fischer, is on the train with a scene photo: "As surprised as I was at the time to be approached for a theatre role and then also in English, I was quickly enthusiastic about the play, the colleagues and above all the theatre! I always enjoy coming here and it's great that ‚my' Fräulein Fischer is now jetting through Frankfurt for a year."

The first ride, with Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann at the wheel, went to Willy-Brandt-Platz, almost straight to the theatre. "Clear the way" for 40 years of English Theatre Frankfurt!

Frankfurt-Tipp.de also wishes all the staff on and behind the stage of the English Theatre HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Here's to the next 40 years!!
