Historisches Museum opens for Christmas shopping
Historisches Museum opens for Christmas shopping

Although a normal visit to the museum and discovering special exhibitions is not possible at the moment, there is now also the possibility to enjoy a touch of museum flair at the Historisches Museum and find nice presents for Christmas at the same time. Because from today, Monday, until Wednesday, December 23, the shop of the Historisches Museum Frankfurt will be open Mondays to Fridays from 10 am to 5 pm. Here you can discover beautiful, unusual and unusual things.

Of course, you can buy the high-quality catalogues for the special exhibitions here. But that is by no means all: in the museum shop you will also find publications of the Junges Museum, for example the comic series "Frankfurt History for Young People", published in cooperation with Zwerchfell-Verlag since 2017. In the first volume, "Frankfurt 1742: The Greatest Festival in the World," the story focuses on the coronation of the emperor in 1742. It tells the story of Leo, a Jewish boy who wants to be present at the coronation, and of Catharina and Lucia, who help him with cunning and courage to make this dream come true. The second volume, titled "Frankfurt 1918/19. Out of the Darkness," looks at the lives and activism of women in Frankfurt during the 1918/19 revolution through the eyes of four girls. A nice gift to get Frankfurt history told a little differently.

A special gift is also the Frankfurt panorama painted by Christian Georg Schütz the cousin entitled "Vue de la Ville Impériale de Francfort sur le Meyn" from 1792. It was published in the last year of the last imperial election in Frankfurt and can be purchased as a shawl made of fine one hundred percent silk in the museum shop.

It's not all historical in the shop, though: there are also Christmas dough rolls, crafts for children and selected publications on the themes of the ongoing special exhibitions at the house.

So, do pop into the shop. More info also at: https://www.historisches-museum-frankfurt.en/
