The largest hotel in the Rheingau has been open since February 1. The Wald.Weit Rheingau Hotel & Retreat in Kiedrich combines luxury, nature and sustainability in a special setting and is located just 40 minutes from Frankfurt. The hotel attracted numerous guests on its opening weekend and impressed with its sophisticated concept that combines relaxation, culinary delights and activity.
A hotel surrounded by nature
The Wald.Weit Hotel offers 80 rooms, all of which have a balcony and a view of the forest or the Rhine Valley. The architecture relies on local materials, especially wood, and blends in with the natural surroundings. Guests praised the peaceful atmosphere and the spacious design of the rooms, which use floor-to-ceiling windows and natural colors to create an open and light-flooded atmosphere.
The relaxation concept includes a wellness area with sauna and specially designed outdoor yoga spots. Guests also have access to an 18-hectare private forest with hiking trails and its own mountain bike trails.
Culinary delights and top regional cuisine
A central element of the hotel is its gastronomy. The Wald.Fein restaurant focuses on regional and seasonal cuisine. Head chef Falk Richter combines traditional dishes with modern accents. The restaurant is open daily from 12 noon to 9 p.m.
A particular highlight is the rooftop bar, which offers 250 selected wines from the region and beyond. It is open daily from 5 pm, in summer from 12 pm. In addition, a summer garden will open in summer, where regional specialties such as Spundekäs and pretzels will be served.
A new venue for events
In addition to vacation guests, the hotel is also aimed at companies and event organizers. Four flexible event rooms offer space for up to 199 people. All rooms have panoramic windows and direct access to the spacious event terrace.
Sustainability as a guiding principle
The Wald.Weit Hotel relies on a sustainable energy concept. Geothermal energy in combination with a wood chip system provides heating and cooling. Photovoltaic systems and extensive green roofs supplement the energy supply. Natural stone cladding on the building also serves as nesting sites for birds and insects.
Positive results at the start
The operators of the hotel, Tina Badrot and Tim Gemünden, were satisfied with the start. "Our aim was to create a place that combines relaxation, closeness to nature and sustainable tourism. The initial reactions from our guests confirm that this approach has been well received," said Badrot.
General Manager David Simon also drew a positive balance. "With Wald.Weit, we have developed a concept that is attractive to various target groups. Whether you are looking for relaxation, an active holiday or a business trip - the hotel has something to suit everyone."
To kick things off, the hotel is offering an opening discount of 20 percent on overnight stays.
